People's Cat

by Pam Shirk, North Carolina, USA

--------------

I've told Rob that we can't get a different home for PC until he manages to chase the other cats enough that they're all in shape. Since the three older cats are only a little pudgy, PC won't have a lot of work with them. Rob says that Merlin is a lifetime career, and that Merlin is an "udder experience." Merlin thinks we're complimenting him on his beautiful expanse. [grin]

Today, PC thinks his name is "People's Cat." He's been chasing all the people in the house around and slapping at our ankles. No claws are extended, just slapping at our ankles.

Tanada and Berfert are still not reconciled to him, but they're so used to the chaos that invades our house that they seem to figure that one more bit of chaos is normal. QC is madame placid, she has the classical Main Coon temperament. Nothing fazes her and she never gets perturbed by anything. Merlin is happy to have a playmate. Tanada is fun to chase, but she always runs into the bedroom and climbs on top of the cable box. Merlin can't get his lardship up there. Merlin is our biggest, by weight, cat. PC promises to be our smallest, by paw size. They've already become a sort of odd couple. Their markings are quite similar, only PC has brownish tabby markings and Merlin has gray tabby markings. I guess the key for them all to adjust so fast, is that we expect them to and they have never let us down.
