Dusty's Revenge

by Tammy Jo, Arizona, USA

--------------

I know that Dust has been bad mouthing me to ya'll. His little plan about tripping me and destroying the stupid little bench were all talk, it just never happened. Actually tough guy is sprawled out on the bench right now. Now, I don't know if what happened this afternoon was an accident or totally intentional but either way I am pretty angry with The Dust.

Around 2:30pm I went out to the back porch to pick up some towels and stuff. When I went out the door I made sure not to shut it all the way because it will latch and sometime lock. This is an all glass French door. As I was picking stuff up I heard the door click and when I turned around I could see Dusty laying up against it through the glass with his back to me. Well the door locked and guess what........I had no way to get back in! I tried every window and door and couldn't get in. I thought I would just go to see if my neighbors were home and I could use their phone to have hubby come home and let me in. Problem is I didn't have any shoes on, I live in a rural area in the middle of the desert (cactus, dirt, no sidewalks and neighbors not so close) and it was over 100 degrees out and my feet were already fried from walking around the perimeter of the house.

I was out there for 3 hours before my hubby came home from work. I was hot, the water from the hose was hot and the shade was depleting quickly as the sun moved west. No matter where I was I could see that fat little #@%* looking at me out the windows. At one point I was on the other side of a sliding glass door that Dust was looking out of and I was trying to explain to him in great detail how to open the latch. I believe I called that cat every name in the book. And you know what, I could swear he was smiling at me!!! Like I said, accident or intentional, you decide.
