There are LOTS of ways. One very common way is called "Chicago" and is described in a recent post on this forum.

A slightly different way that is perhaps a bit older is to score as in Rubber Bridge but curtail the play of a round after four hands. Sometimes this is a partial game, sometimes it is a partial rubber, sometimes it is two rubbers.

I am sure there are plenty of other methods as well.

What is the "right" way. However the players in the group have been doing it for years. If you are starting a new group I suggest you use Chicago since it is common and is well documented.

In some games here they play a 'duplicate chicago'. You only score plus if you make more tricks than what is required of your partnership total HCP. Example, if your partnership have 29 HCP and playing in 3NT, you are required to make 10 tricks or more before you can score the game. If you made only 9 the opponents score it as one down.
